Live Online Class – PWH cycle 59

Sorcerers' Crossing

Nov. 23 – January 18, 2026 – Sundays at 10:00 a.m. PT

These classes explore the foundational practice of recapitulation from Taisha Abelar’s The Sorcerer’s Crossing. For nine weeks, we will engage in reading, discussing, and practicing the exercises presented in the book, as well as recapitulating using the sweeping breath.

Recapitulation is a guided process to recall your presence, focus, and energy invested in past relationships, roles, and events. This reclaiming of vitality clears the ground for the two great paths of shamanic training: dreaming—the art of shifting awareness in the dream state, and stalking—the art of daily living with impeccability and integrity. Recapitulation serves as a bridge between them, organizing your thinking and feelings to reach a new understanding. You can choose to experience empathy and gratitude for the challenging situations you’ve lived through, and gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what you want.

Each class presents a new theme and combines practical instruction, sorcery passes, breathwork, and stalking exercises to steady attention and dismantle repetitive patterns. As the internal inventory reorganizes itself, you become more flexible and accepting, more open to giving and receiving, to loving and being loved. Allow your vitality to return, your sensitivity to awaken, so that you live the best version of yourself.

“As soon as the compulsive pattern of old habits, thoughts, expectations, and feelings is broken by means of the recapitulation, one is indisputably in the position to accumulate enough energy to live by the new rationales provided by the sorcery tradition- and to substantiate those rationales by directly perceiving a different reality.” – Taisha Abelar

In this series, you will learn 9 different ways to recapitulate events. Each class will present one specific theme and a recapitulation exercise accompanied by martial arts sequences that Taisha taught me. These powerful movements support body strengthening, balance, and coordination, while also revitalizing internal organs and enhancing energy flow. Taisha was a master at focusing her mind on the task at hand, maintaining a state of ‘grounded calmness”. Spending time with her and learning from her wisdom was a gift: her sense of awe and gratefulness for life was contagious to the point that I live it in me every day. In her book, The Sorcerer’s Crossing she describes several techniques and practices about connecting to nature, and we will address some of them, including being under a tree to absorb the nurturing energy of the earth, walking in darkness to confront and release fear, and seeing plants as sentient beings.
