Live Online Class – PWH cycle 61

What Is Real?

April 19 – June 14, 2026 – Sundays at 10:00 am PT

Open Your Eyes to See

In this nine-class series, we will practice energy passes to improve the use of the eyes in organizing movement, expanding sensory capacity, and our ability to see. In the teachings of don Juan, the eyes perform two functions: looking and seeing. Looking is what we normally do—we look to recognize, to name, and to confirm what we already know. Seeing is different. It is seeing without preconceptions; it is perceiving energy directly, perceiving the essence of things. When we learn to see, nothing is ever the same again. We begin to perceive the world not as we were conditioned to see it, but as it truly is—alive, mysterious, and unfathomable. This series is an invitation to see and discover what is real.

What is it about?

In this cycle, we will read and discuss A Separate Reality by Carlos Castaneda, a book that focuses on the art of seeing and on the understanding that what we call reality is only one interpretation of the world.

Through guided mindful movement, breath and silence practices, and sensory awareness exercises, we will work to disengage the eyes from fixation on what we believe is “real and solid,” and instead free the eyes to perceive without preconceptions.

The classes include recapitulation and dreaming practices to support the organization and reconciliation of memory, and to enter states of calm attention where new possibilities, ideas, and perceptions can emerge.

There will also be time for rich sharing and discussion in small groups with new and long-term practitioners from all over the world in English, Spanish, Italian, and Russian.

“When a man is not concerned with seeing, things look very much the same to him every time he looks at the world. When he learns to see, on the other hand, nothing is ever the same every time he sees it, and yet it is the same.” — Carlos Castaneda

The eyes initiate most of our actions, and because all functions of the nervous system interact, working with the eyes can improve vision, posture, breathing, movement, thinking, and perception.

As the eyes soften and learn to observe rather than to judge or project, your thinking, feeling, and perceiving change. You begin to sense that reality is not fixed, but assembled by your perception—and that you can learn to assemble it differently.

What are the benefits?

In these classes, you learn to:

  • Differentiate between looking and seeing, and perceive beyond surface appearances.
  • Free the eyes from habitual fixation and stop internal talking.
  • Improve the eyes’ function and coordination with the whole body.
  • Enhance balance, posture, and breathing through sensory-motor integration.
  • Experience how perception changes when your eyes soften, your breath is free, and your movements are fluid.
  • Develop your ability to sense what is true and what is false.
  • Learn to perceive and live in another reality—a reality of greater awareness, beauty, and possibility.

What to bring to class?
