Bring your attention back to your internal processes through somatic processes to enhance your mobility and cognitive capacities. When moving from within, with intimate proximity to the skeletal and nervous systems, we can experience ground forces as they come through us, spiraling through our bones and joints all the way to the heart and top of the head.

 

Movement and thinking habits are hidden in the soft tissues, compressing muscles and organs, creating restrictions and chronic pain. Through these lessons, you create new possibilities of movement and thinking patterns, accessing internal resources and engaging in efficient and more effective ways of being, beyond habitual self-preservation patterns, meeting your environment with fresher and more efficient ways of being.

Relay on your internal integrity for support, confidence, and freedom in movement, action and thought.

Are you struggling with your balance or coordination? Do you experience tightness in the hips and difficulty bending your knees? 

 

Join these classes and experience yourself in new and more supportive ways by expanding sensory perception and engaging your attention to the internal processes of thinking, perception, and awareness. 

These seven classes are a continuation of the “Understanding Your Feet series” and focus on the relationship between feet and hips. The somatic processes are based on Aerin’s twenty years of experience as a Feldenkrais Practitioner and her thirty years of experience in the fields of shamanism, perception, and awareness. 

Feel the life force spiraling up through your feet, renewing your ability to stay present in adversity with joy and ease.

Your Feet and Hips relate to the first and second chakras, also called gates of dreaming.  The feet are associated with ancestors and family of origin and the imprints left in our past.  The Hips are associated with how we relate to one another and how both hip joints need to work in balance to create stability and support for the trunk and head. As an energy center, it connects with the handling of our vital energy in the form of sex, money, and power.

Who is guiding this training?

Being Energy® director Aerin Alexander guides these classes.

 

Aerin Alexander is a kinesiologist, somatic educator, dancer, writer, and international workshop leader with more than 35 years of experience teaching movement as a pathway to health, vitality, and self-awareness. She holds a Master of Exercise Science and a second Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology.

A certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner since 2004, Aerin is also certified in Yoga, Gyrotonic®, and Sounder Sleep Therapy®, and is currently completing her training as a Pilates instructor. Her work reflects decades of study and teaching across multiple movement disciplines, bringing together scientific understanding of biomechanics and nervous system function with refined practices that support learning through movement.

Through her classes and workshops, Aerin helps people restore balance, flexibility, coordination, and strength, and learn practical ways to integrate these improvements into everyday life.
