Inner Silence: The Edge of the Abyss
New Series Begins December 12, 2024
Carlos Castaneda ended his last book with the image of walking along the edge of an abyss, a metaphor for maintaining a razor-sharp awareness of what awaits us if we give in to fatigue, self-importance, neediness or any of the other pitfalls on the warrior’s path, the path that is a constant battle between “the human condition” and human possibilities, the possibility to evolve individually as energy beings and to evolve as a species. The abyss represents the absence of awareness—in the form of routines, self-absorption/self-reflection, and death. We are always on its edge, but to use it correctly, we have to be deliberately conscious of our situation. If we maintain a clear view of the abyss and yet persist along its perilous edge, we feel a certain calm, the condition of inner silence. These classes will offer an energetic exploration of the inner silence that a clear awareness of the abyss can bring.
