These nine-weekly classes are an invitation to question what Carlos Castaneda called “the idea of the self”. As we grow up, we develop an “I” to function and thrive in the material world of the tonal. Our sense of self develops through life experiences and gets defined through the process of socialization, the agreements of reality that gives us an external identity: a name, a nationality, who we are.
Sometimes, the external identity becomes fixed, stiff, stubborn and absolute. It denies the existence of other areas of ourselves; it becomes an identification trapped in a groove of the wheel of time. Much of our energy and life force gets wasted in daily defending this idea of the “I” we have identified with, always trying to improve it and ending in a loop of constant dissatisfaction.
Seers have discovered that we can liberate the “I” by dissolving the “identification” with who we think we are. Stopping the world it is a daily practice of removing the mask, the façade of identifications, and experience instead the living being that is always present, calm and in AWE, amazed at each moment of its human existence.
